Help Shepherd’s Daughters raise money for future LWML projects by buying a ticket to their Dinner and A Movie on March 16. $8 for a lasagna plate dinner with tossed salad, Italian bread, and dump cake plus popcorn and a showing of The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O’Sullivan. Lemonade and water offered for drinks. Not a bad price for dinner, fellowship, and a great Irish movie.
Dinner starts at 5 p.m. with the movie at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available after worship on Sundays and Wednesday from February 18 to March 6.
Mites will be collected on Sunday, 12/31/2023 during the offering. Anyone (women, men, children) may contribute even if you don’t have a Mite Box. No loose change? Don’t worry! We also accept paper currency.
From that site: Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.
Shepherd’s Daughters will meet in the Adult Bible Study Room of Shepherd’s Hall on Saturday, December 16 at 11:30 a.m. Please bring your lunch and drink. Agenda items include approval of the revamped by-laws, gifts for the students of the Early Learning Center and the Sunday School, and (if we can find a good one) video of current LWML mission projects,
Shepherd’s Daughters is for all women of Good Shepherd.
The reorganizational meeting for Lutheran Women In Mission (LWML) went very well. Ten women attended and they voted to renew this group at Good Shepherd.
LWML will meet monthly on the third Saturday of the month at 11:30 a.m. in the Adult Bible Study Room in Shepherd’s Hall. The November 18th meeting will decide on group structure, officers, service projects, and fund-raising efforts. Please bring your lunch and a drink.
If you are interested, contact Wendy Green or Linda Baker for more information.
October 28 at 11:30 a.m. in Shepherd’s Hall Classroom (to stay out of the way of those setting up for Oktoberfest)
All Good Shepherd women invited to help restart the Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML.) We’ll discuss monthly meeting times, structure of group, project both for LWML and for Good Shepherd, the Spring Rally, women’s circles, and more. Please bring your lunch and drink; there will be sheet cake for dessert. Talk to Wendy Green or Linda Baker for more information.
If you can’t attend this meeting, let us or the church office know and we’ll keep you in the loop.
We’re joining the Titusville Community Trunk or Treat at Lowe’s (t (4660 South Street) on October 19 from 5-7 p.m. and hosting our own event with a Harvest Hayride on October 21. Times for our event are 4:30 p.m. for the hayride and 6 p.m. for the trunk and treat.
Decorate your car’s trunk and join us at Good Shepherd on the 21th and help us make Hallowe’en a safe and fun celebration for our local kids.
If you have candy to donate, we still need lots of it. Please leave it in the basket in the narthex.
