Evelyn is Back!
Great news! Our Organist has returned from the north. We thank God for her safe travels and for gracing us with her musical skill.
Communion Schedule for June 2024

Pastor Bruce is taking a well-deserved leave of absence from June 2 to July 17.
Service of Prayer & Healing for June/July Cancelled
This worship service will resume in August when Pastor returns from leave.
Ash Wednesday and Lenten Schedule
Ash Wednesday is February 14. Worship followed by a soup lunch is at 11 a.m. (meal in Shepherd’s Hall). Evening service is at 6:30 p.m. Both will have Imposition of Ashes.
Lenten worship will be on Wednesdays, Feb 21 through March 20, at 11 a.m. (with soup) and 6:30 p.m.
Maundy Thursday is March 28. Good Friday is March 29. Easter is March 31. Worship times will be announced.,
New Member Sunday
New Members will be welcomed into fellowship at Good Shepherd during worship on January 28.

Advent dates for 2023
Advent this year begins Sunday, December 3 and ends December 24, the fourth Sunday in Advent and Christmas Eve. Good Shepherd will have Midweek Advent worship on December 6, 13, and 20. (times to be announced.)
Sunday, November 26, is the last Sunday of the church year and Pastor Bruce will preach on the end of the world (his traditional end-of-the-year message.)

Service of Prayer & Healing Cancelled for November 4
Due to Pastor’s vacation.
Worship and Office Hour Changes for weeks of November 5 & 12
Pastor Bruce will be on vacation over these Sundays. Tom Lau will lead worship in his place and there will be no communion at these services.
Anyone in need of pastoral care should call the church office and ask for an elder to respond.

Holy Week Worship
Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion will be April 6th at 6:30 p.m.
Good Friday Tenebrae worship will be April 7th at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Easter Sunrise Worship will be April 9th at 7:30 a.m. outside Shepherd’s Hall. Communion will be offered. Afterward will be Easter Breakfast in Shepherd’s Hall followed by an Easter Egg Hunt.
Traditional Easter Worship with Communion in the Sanctuary will be at 11 a.m.

Early Learning Center Advent Program
The Early Learning Center’s Children’s Program will be during the morning Advent Worship on Wednesday, December 14 at 11 a.m. Please join the children as they celebrate with us.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve Worship Times
Christmas Eve Worship will be Saturday, December 24 at 4 and 7 p.m.
Christmas Day Worship will be Sunday, December 25 at 9 a.m.
New Year’s Eve Worship will be Saturday, December 31 at 6:30 p.m.
Advent Worship 2022 (updated)
Worship is Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The morning worship is followed by a soup and dessert lunch. Sign up for food for this lunch on the board in Shepherd’s Hall by the entrance.

Wednesday, June 22, we will have a quick prayer meeting, with breakfast, at 6:00 a.m. Please come to the sanctuary at that time if you wish to participate. This will be very brief and you can be off to your tasks.

Pentecost will see the confirmation of two of Good Shepherd’s youth. Please join us for worship and this rite then celebrate in Shepherd’s Hall afterward to enjoy sheet cake and our confirmands.

Ash Wednesday & Midweek Lenten Services
Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent, is Wednesday, March 2. Morning service starts at 11:00am in the Sanctuary. Evening services will be at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. Lenen services are every Wednesday from March 13 through April 6 at the same times.
We will continue our traditional “Lenten Lunches” following the 11:00am service in Shepherd’s Hall. Homemade soups, breads, and desserts will be served. (The food sign-up sheet is in the narthex.)
Everyone is invited and we hope that you will join us for lunch and fellowship during this special time of our church year.

Mid-Week Advent Services Begin Wednesday, December 1
Join us for our Midday services that begin at 11:00am on December 1st followed by soup lunch in Shepherd’s Hall. (See The Signup Sheet.)
Evening services will begin at 6:30pm. Services will
continue every Wednesday through December 15 in the Sanctuary.
Our special Early Learning Center Children’s program will be on December 15th at 6:30 in Shepherd’s Hall
(in place of the 6:30pm service in the Sanctuary.) Make sure to make note on your calendars to join us.
Mid-Week Advent Soup Lunches are back!
Soup lunches are back in Shepherd’s Hall following the 11:00am mid-week Advent service. Please help make this a successful return by signing up to bring a soup on one of the 3 Wednesdays. The signup sheet is in the Narthex. Call the office if you need more information or see Betty Kogok.
