Lutheran Schools Week at Our Early Learning Center

Second to the Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church has many more pre-schools, elementary and high schools, and colleges than any other denomination. This next week is set aside to celebrate all of those wonderful places of learning, not only about reading, writing, and arithmetic, but about the love of God and all of the Blessings He bestows on us.

The munchkins at the ELC are celebrating Lutheran Schools Week with a Spirit Week of their own. So if you see any of them dressed crazily, or munching on pizza, you’ll know why! While they are wearing crazy outfits and learning more about the Beatitudes (Have a BEE-ATTITUDE, not a ME-ATTITUDE), they will also be preparing to bless you with song next Sunday during Worship. Be sure and welcome the ELC families as they join us next Sunday. Prepare to be Blessed!

Mites Explanation and History (links to LWML.org)

From that site: Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.

    Rummage Sale Thank You

Thank you to all who helped make the rummage sale a success. Many volunteers put long hours into sorting, tagging, arranging, boxing, etc. This was truly a joint effort by many, many people. The results were astonishing. Now only was money raised for some special projects, but the community was blessed. Additionally, there was much fellowship and comradery. Good job, church!
